community groups

Living Life Together...That may be the easiest way to sum up what our community groups are all about. We believe that God uses our relationships with each other to grow and form us in ways we cannot see or understand. We strive to make our groups places where each person can grow in their faith, receive encouragement and hope, and know that they are loved and cared for. By meeting together each week, we are able to invest in each other as God continues to form us into a community of faith, hope, and love.

:: Our Fall Schedule ::

This fall our groups will be studying through The Good and Beautiful Community, where James Bryan Smith uses the Scriptures to help us know how to live in relationship with others as apprentices of Jesus. "Apprentices of Jesus are not part-time do-gooders, but live in continuous contact with the kingdom of God, and are constantly men and women in whom Christ dwells. They do not sometimes tell the truth, sometimes live sacrificially or sometimes forgive. There are myriad opportunities for us to impact the world in which we live." We will discuss how to bring spiritual formation and community engagement together, as well as specific spiritual practices that root new, true narratives about God and the world in our souls.

:: Locations ::

On Monday nights we have four groups that meet... one in MidCity (near Grace Baptist, at 6:30), two in Prairieville (one at 6:30 & one at 6:45), and one for college students just off campus (in the Brightside area, at 7:30).

On Tuesday nights we have two groups that meet in Baton Rouge (one in the Perkins/Siegen area at 6:30, the other in a location soon TBD at 7:00), one group in Central (7:00) and one group in Zachary (7:00).

:: Kids Community Group ::

This community group just for kids (k-5th grade) meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month at 4:00 p.m in the Education Building at Grace Baptist. For more information, check out the kids ministry.

:: Youth Community Group ::

This community group just for students (6th-12th grades) meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month at 4:00 p.m. in the conference room at Grace Baptist. For more information, check out the student ministry.
