kids ministry
the mission statement for our church is "leading people to a more intimate relationship with God, for His glory," and we believe that process starts as soon as we are born.
this is why we put a great deal of emphasis on our kids ministry.
God's design is for the parent to be the primary source of all spiritual guidance for a child. we as a church are here to help equip parents to disciple their children, and to reinforce what is being taught and modeled at home.
:: nursery ::
during our time together on sunday nights we offer childcare for ages 5 and under... one room for "bed babies" and another for our "walkers."
for more information about our policies and procedures in the nursery, email megan at megan@ringcommunity.org.
why do we offer childcare on sunday nights? - we want to create a safe environment for our kids where parents feel good about the care their children will receive. and we want it to be a time where these kids can learn about how much God loves them while their parents learn the very same thing.
what will your child do in the nursery? - it's not just babysitting. in their time together, the "walkers" do a little bit of everything... sing, arts and crafts, play, and color, all centered around a story from the Bible. our dedicated volunteers work hard to make sure that each week our kids have an experience that will help grow them into who God created them to be.
new to the ring? need to know where the nursery rooms are located? - just look for the signs pointing to the nursery rooms or stop by the table and ask.
:: k-5th grade ::
we have something special for our elementary-age kids on the 2nd and 4th sundays of the month, from 4:00-5:00 p.m.
it is a community group designed just for them, and it is led by our amazing kids ministry team.
in their time together, they study the Bible and discuss how it applies to them, sing, create arts and crafts, and all kinds of other fun stuff. you never know exactly what's in store, but it is always meaningful and fun!
in addition to the kids community group we have other activities including kids' camp, the annual easter egg hunt, and other special events just for our kids scheduled throughout the year. check out the calendar to see what's happening next...

all of our volunteers feel called by God to work with our kids ministry, and we do our best to give them the training and resources to do so effectively.
we use material from "my first look" (www.myfirstlook.org) with our "walkers", and each week is led by one of our 7 lead teachers along with several volunteers from the church. our kids team writes the lesson each week for the kids community group, and work together to create an experience that is Bible-based and Christ-centered.
as a matter of safety, we run background checks on all of our kids ministry volunteers through trak-1 technologies (www.trak-1.com). we never allow any of our volunteers to be alone with any of our kids, and at least two volunteers are present at all times.
when you drop your child off in our nursery, you will be asked to sign them in, and you will receive a card. you will need that card in order to sign your child back out of the nursery at the end of the night. this helps ensure the safety of everyone involved.
if you have any questions about our kids ministry, feel free to call our offices or email us anytime at staff@ringcommunity.org.

do you feel led to help with our kids ministry?
here is what serving in each area involves...
- bed babies - be in the bed baby room by 4:40 on your sunday night (currently about once every 3 months), and sit with the babies during the service. we are fully stocked with baby stuff; so just come ready to take good care of the little ones.
- walkers - be in the walker room by 4:40 on your sunday night (currently about once every 3 months). each week there will be one "lead teacher" who is ready to teach the lesson and knows the general plan. there are two other volunteers who are there to assist with all activities and take care of the kids.
- kids community group - be there by 3:30 p.m. for prayer on the 2nd and 4th sundays of the month. the kids show up at 4:00 and the group ends just before the service starts. the team is split into two groups: K-2nd and 3rd-5th grades. . each group studies a Bible story, then participates in activities and games that reinforce the concepts of the lesson. most of the communication within the team happens via email, with an occasional meeting for training and planning.
- all volunteers must agree to a background check through trak-1 technologies (www.trak-1.com).
if you believe that God is leading you to work with our kids ministry, email megan at megan@ringcommunity.org, and she will get the ball rolling.
